What the Heck Am I Doing?!

March 23rd marked a milestone for me – my first vendor market. Since then, every weekend has been a whirlwind of activity, emotions, and growth. For 2024, I set a goal to see an idea through to the end, and here I am, living it. Balancing my 9-5 job and Acquired Taste has made me one busy bee. It’s exciting, terrifying, confronting, and revealing all at once.

There are so many things I didn’t know and still don’t know. Starting my LLC was a lesson in itself. I wish I had more guidance in the beginning. A word of advice: you can definitely do it yourself. If you do decide to pay someone, ensure they stand behind their service. My experience was less than ideal, but I learned a lot from it. Super grateful to the customer service rep at the Comptroller of Texas who helped me get back on track. Pick up the phone, people – the help you need is just a phone call away from the direct source!

I had started my LLC a while back without realizing the ongoing responsibilities. Lesson learned! If you start an LLC, even if it’s for the future, make sure you file all the necessary paperwork each year to keep it in good standing.

Despite the frustrations, I’m incredibly proud of myself. The learning curve is steep, but my personal growth has been exponential. I see it in my interactions with customers and the public. It’s a true joy to be doing this.

I can’t believe I’m actually doing this. I’m thrilled and can’t wait to see where this journey takes me. I have so many amazing ideas that I can’t wait to bring to life. I have a good feeling about this venture and can’t wait to share it with you.

Thank you for joining me on this journey!
