Acquired Taste was born in a garage in Austin, Texas. What started as a personal ritual, lighting incense to ground myself, turned into a creative practice that filled a gap I couldn’t ignore.

Most incense holders I found didn’t speak to me. They clashed with my space, or worse, felt disposable. I wanted objects that honored the ritual and matched my style. So I started making them, by hand, one at a time.

Today, Acquired Taste is a small-batch incense and home goods brand rooted in design, intention, and resourcefulness. We create handcrafted incense holders and curate incense blends that help you slow down, breathe deeper, and set the tone—visually, emotionally, and energetically.

Sustainability in Practice (Not Just a Label)

We’re not perfect—but we’re intentional.

We thrift objects to cast. We source secondhand materials from reuse stores. We pick up free scrap wood from local workshops. We rework, reimagine, and refuse to add unnecessary waste into the world.

Our packaging is recyclable. Our branding is minimalist. Our approach is honest—because what you burn shouldn’t cost the planet.

Each incense holder is painted by hand—no two are exactly alike. We keep production small so we can keep care big. Whether you buy from a market booth or our online shop, every piece has been touched by human hands.

Our incense is made from either essential oils or high-quality fragrance oils that are free of parabens, phthalates, and unnecessary additives. Just good scent, good burn, and good design.
